Public Speaking Tip: Seeding — The “Build”

A short technique for pre-selling from the stage: drop small, cumulative details about your product throughout the talk instead of pitching it cold at the end.

This tip is about seeding: the practice of planting ideas into the minds of your audience to help you with selling from the front of the room. If you have a product or service and you use presentations as part of your sales cycle, increase your percentage of sales by using seeding throughout your presentation.

During your presentations you should be seeding your product throughout. These are little tid-bits of information the audience can use. As you go through your presentation, these seeds add up so that when you actually present your product or service – your audience is well aware what it is, what it does and will be interested.

Here Maurice DiMino talks about the “Build” type of seeding. It consists of two parts, two sentences.
